Loro Austin is gorgeous. Created by James Beard Award winners, Chef Tyson Cole of Uchi and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue, Loro Austin’s beautiful architecture floods the open space with sunlight. And it has great seating throughout. Barstools up front at the bar, tables, benches and booths on the wall. This place was well thought out.
You can tell that it is ready for packed crowds since it has markers over the places on that wide open bar to tell you where to stand to order your next frosty cold beverage. I had the peach ice special that day. Fruity and boozy. Great to beat the heat.
The menu is easy to find; they post it right on the wall.
We had the Crunchy Sweet Corn Fritters and the Chicken Karaage. And some chips and salsa. This menu is made for drinking and talking: salty, fried, spicy, savory. It can be heavy. You might not want to go all fried as we did.
Sometimes it’s hard to be a food blogger in a group of food bloggers. Someone is always in your way.
